Installing air conditioning the right way
Heat pump or just A/C?
This is often the first question we tackle with a customer. Do you install an air conditioner or a combined heat pump/AC unit? In most cases, it’s most economical to install a combination unit. There are a couple of reasons for this. A heat pump is simply an air conditioner that is capable of running in reverse. It requires a slightly more complicated unit, but the basic components are the same. Therefore, the risk of additional repairs beyond a standard AC unit is fairly small. The increased cost of the unit will be absorbed by the energy savings in your system. In our climate, this can be substantial.
